‘Making the Difference’ was the slogan emblazoned across the shirts of a group of people from Woolworths Eden Meadow who reached out to Rand Aid’s Thembalami Care Centre this Mandela Day.
The retailer lived up to its promise to make a difference when it gave the care centre’s greenhouse a make-over valued at R5 000. The structure’s roof was re-covered and the steel frame painted in uplifting shades of blue, yellow, pink and green.
“The spent more than 67 minutes at Thembalami, but instead worked on until the job was done,” says Elize Raath, the manager of Thembalami. She expressed her gratitude for Woolworths Eden Meadow’s ongoing support.
