Not even the chickens are cooped up at Rand Aid’s Thembalami Care Centre in Lombardy East.
The care centre – which incorporates the Max Ordman Deaf Association – has maximised its large grounds to allow residents the opportunity to get out and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. A pretty dam with a birdhide, lapas, beautiful gardens, a network of paths, an interesting food garden and a large chicken house with a huge run mean there’s plenty to see and do out of doors.
Collecting the eggs is a fun pastime for Thembalami resident Adrienne Bass.

The pretty dam at Thembalami Care Centre creates a focal point in the grounds and attracts a variety of birds.
