Thornhill Manor reaches out to children with cancer

Zandile Pooe of the Rivonia CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA branch was all smiles on July 16 when she collected donations amounting to R5 000 from Thornhill Manor in Modderfontein.

The Rand Aid retirement village decided to turn its July monthly tea into a fundraiser for CHOC. Residents made monetary donations and bought raffle tickets in favour of CHOC, while donations were also made from the village fund and chapel committees. The two cuddly toys were kindly donated by Thornhill Manor’s Knit & Natter group.

“The cuddly toys will be going to homes for children who are living with cancer to enjoy and bring smiles to their faces,” said Thornhill Manor deputy manager Jackie Scott.
