Elphin Lodge’s Christmas Dinner, held on December 10, was thoroughly enjoyed by all. A three-course meal, catered by Steve Burton and his Cookchill team, went down a treat. Entertainment was provided by pianist, organist and keyboard performer Martin Lane, which set the tone for a jolly time.
The Jokers Jackpot was drawn on the night and with R20 000 up for grabs, excitement was high. Unfortunately, the jackpot was not won so the money rolls over to the next draw. However, two lucky chair winners went home with a bottle of Amarula each and the Christmas cake raffle was won by Vera Oosthuizen.
“Thanks to Felicity Kanichowsky for icing the cake, which was donated by Val Kruger, our Christmas cake supplier of many years,” says village manager Helen Petrie.
“Ten staff members stayed overnight to serve and clear and through their outstanding efforts, we all enjoyed a well-managed event.”
